The meeting was attended by the Dean of the University of Applied Sciences, Associate Professor Ante Orlović, PhD; Vice Dean for Science, Quality Assurance and International Cooperation, Associate Professor Željko Karas, PhD; Vice Dean for Professional and University Studies, Hrvoje Filipović, PhD; and faculty member Marijan Jozić, PhD.
Representatives of both HASS and the University of Applied Sciences expressed their satisfaction with the successful cooperation established in 2023, which has been reflected in the active role and contribution of the University of Applied Sciences to the development of academic sports, as well as in encouraging and promoting sports activities among its students, with the full support, openness and cooperation of the Federation.
During the meeting, Mr Vincetić presented a plaque to the Dean, Associate Professor Ante Orlović, PhD, in recognition of the University’s participation in the finals of the UniSport Finals 2025 student sports competition, one of the largest multi-sport events in the Republic of Croatia. This year, the University of Applied Sciences will once again participate in the UniSport Finals 2026 competition in Poreč, competing in three sports disciplines.
With the aim of further developing and institutionalising academic sports at the University of Applied Sciences, HASS will officially invite the University to establish an academic sports association, which, in accordance with applicable legislation and regulations, constitutes a prerequisite for obtaining full membership in the Croatian Academic Sports Federation.
Membership in HASS and inclusion in the academic sports system would bring significant benefits to the University of Applied Sciences in Criminal Investigation and Public Security, particularly the right to participate in the academic sports system, opportunities for financial and organisational support, participation in international university competitions, enhancement of student standards and health, and the promotion of the University within the academic, sporting and wider public communities.
